"The thing about classic Hunter Semillon is that it can be fine and delicate, yet still mature for a decade or more in the bottle. The clear herbal and melon aromas of this typical example are so subtle as to be almost neutral, but its palate is long and supple, brightly flavoured with lively citrus fruits and punctuated by chalky, lemony acids. From a season of rare warmth and sunshine, it will develop beautifully for at least another six years or so."

The 2002 Allandale Hilltops Cabernet Sauvignon has just been released. This is one of the latest and most exciting releases for the Allandale Winery. This deep purple Cabernet exhibits notes of coffee and dark cherries on the nose with a full palate and fine tannins. The previous release the 2000 Allandale Hilltops Cabernet Sauvignon was chosen in this prestigious "Top 40 Wines" at the NSW Wine Awards.

"Long established as the stalwart in the Allandale range, with a consistent style developed over the years. Part of the primary fermentation is completed in new American oak, and the wine is matured in American oak, drawing (no doubt) on the example of Grange Hermitage and, closer to home, Brokenwood Graveyard Shiraz.
