Extended complexity with developed characters coming through. Defined structure, good balance and lingering aftertaste.”

GREAT REVIEW!

Jeremy Oliver, Australian Gourmet Traveller - WINE

TOP 5 SEMILLONS

"The thing about classic Hunter Semillon is that it can be fine and delicate, yet still mature for a decade or more in the bottle. The clear herbal and melon aromas of this typical example are so subtle as to be almost neutral, but its palate is long and supple, brightly flavoured with lively citrus fruits and punctuated by chalky, lemony acids. From a season of rare warmth and sunshine, it will develop beautifully for at least another six years or so."

GREAT REVIEW!

Allandale 2000 Matthew Shiraz

Awarded 91 out of 100 by James Halliday

"Long established as the stalwart in the Allandale range, with a consistent style developed over the years. Part of the primary fermentation is completed in new American oak, and the wine is matured in American oak, drawing (no doubt) on the example of Grange Hermitage and, closer to home, Brokenwood Graveyard Shiraz. The oak always makes a major contribution to the flavour of the wine, and will appeal greatly to those who enjoy the sweet vanilla flavours which result." - James Halliday, Jan. 29 2002
